Otto Heigold

Landis & Gyr Stiftung Residency

Otto Heigold is a Swiss artist and printmaker. In 1964 he completed his training as a drawing teacher at the St. Michael teacher training college in Zug. From 1970 to 2008 he was active as a professor at the Lucerne School of Design and Art. In 2001 he worked as a guest printer in the lithography workshop of the city of Eichstätt and again in 2002 as a guest printer in the Masereel printing center Kasterlee.

Otto has shown work across Switzerland and Europe, including in Zug, Zurich, Basel, Bern, Heidelberg, Düsseldorf, Lucerne, Budapest and Berlin. His work is in numerous public and private collections, including: the Kunsthaus Zurich graphics collection; ZHB Lucerne Collection of Graphics; Gutenberg Museum Mainz; Stricker Collection Lucerne; and the Albertina, Vienna.

Landis & Gyr Stiftung, Switzerland

The Landis & Gyr foundation awards studio scholarships to Swiss artists and cultural professionals in London, Budapest, Sofia and Zug. Its London-based residency partnership with Acme was established in 1987, and provides six month long work/live opportunities for ten Swiss artists per year. Artists are selected for the programme directly by Landis & Gyr Stiftung and must demonstrate a track record of achievement in their field. Over two hundred visual artists, curators, writers, musicians and composers have benefitted from the programme. Residencies are based in Stepney, E1 and are available to Swiss residents only
